Happy Valentine's Day!

We are so glad you are here!

For Valentine's Day we are doing tattoo flash and donating $100 per tattoo to The Trevor Project in honor of Idalys Maria Moreira. The Trevor Project is the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning (LGBTQ+) young people. They provide free, accessible, 24/7 crisis counseling services via phone (TrevorLifeline), instant messenger (TrevorChat), and text (TrevorText) to young LGBTQ+ people in crisis.

In addition to tattoos, we will have the bar open with plenty of craft beer/wine/seltzers and non alcoholic options. We will also have a craft table available where you can make a Valentine's Day card!

About Ida

Ida was a loved one of our coworker Brigit. This note is from Brigit about Ida:

Ida was a very crucial part of my life and made me into who I am today. Coming from a religious background, I always struggled with my queerness and my romantic feelings for both women and men. When I first spoke to Ida, she so effortlessly told me how beautiful I was to her. How she just wished I could see her how she saw me, well surprise. She became the first women I had ever loved. I had crushes on women in my life, but never how I felt for Ida. She was so blindly kind, proud of who she was, constantly on a day-to-day basis just dedicating her time to making the world a better place. She embraced the beauty that was queerness and enveloping herself within her community. Making friends or meeting people out and about what something that came with such ease for her, she was a light that people couldn't help but be drawn to. But sadly, as time continued, it became very clear that Ida couldn't see herself how I saw her, how everyone saw her...

In 2024, I was notified that Ida took her own life. I remember having to pull my car over to the side of the road because for the first time in my life, my tears had been so drowning that I couldn't breathe. Every text I would send would never get a response. Every call would never go through. I never got the courage to tell Ida just how much she changed my life, how much I still love and admire her everyday. No one who ever knew Ida knew this could have been an outcome, no one knew how deeply Ida was hurting, no one could have ever imagined she would have thought her choices in that moment were a solution. I still mourn her daily, as do so many others. With her birthday coming up on the 8th of February, I wanted to do something productive with those feelings, something she would be proud to have her name attached to. Ida never missed anyone's birthday, and I refuse to not do something special for hers.
